Surprise Gift Holiday Card

One year, every time I mentioned something I liked throughout the year, my husband would respond with “Christmas is coming!”.

Me: “Oh wow, that’s a cute cat?!”
Him: “Christmas is coming!”.

It really created a ton of mystery and anticipation for what he was getting me that year as a Christmas gift. He even added that comment when I mentioned cute engagement rings. In my mind, I thought, “ This is going to be the most epic Christmas ever?! I’m getting so many cool gifts from him!”.

On Christmas day, I unwrapped a car GPS from him and started crying uncontrollably and unexpectedly. I asked if he got it for me because he thought I was a bad driver. It was mortifying. Needless to say, things worked out in the end and we continue to play this “Christmas is Coming!” game with each other as a joke, but it’s what drove the inspiration behind this card.
